card companies have ads all over the Internet and on television, and many are
very entertaining. Discover will have a new ad about customer service, and
theirs will revolve around the great customer service they provide for their
card members. The new ad will hit home with people who have experienced poor customer service.
Discover will show their best-in-class customer service that they provide to
cardholders.
Discover
has made a commitment to deliver good service and rewards. The ads will portray frustrating experiences
that probably everyone has faced dealing with customer service calls. They will
feature their promise to provide real people, who answer calls, in 60 seconds or less,
and who are trained to solve problems on the first call.
Television
ads will portray likable but an incapable customer service representative, whose
name is Peggy. Ads will remind viewers of common, frustrating experiences. Some
examples of problems are, holding on for a long time, getting your call
transferred constantly, and the inability to get problems solved. Ads will run on
four major networks and during certain season premieres. They will be also be featured throughout Discover's sponsorship of all Notre Dame home football games on
NBC.
Discover will
introduce videos of real customer service representatives sharing stories about their experiences helping
card holders. Also, highlights from the "Peggy" television ads will be shared
through Discover's social channels too.
Customers
often consider other credit card companies once they have bad service, or when
they do not get the help they need to manage their account. Discover offers
cards in many designs, and there are different types that fit a variety of
consumer needs. They may not have an annual fee for some cards, and often offer
0% introductory APR for up to 9 months. Interest rates can be from 11.99% to 19.99%
and it is usually based on the applicant's creditworthiness.
Discover
may have offers for low 0% introductory rates for balance transfers, and there
are also cash advances, based on a person's creditworthiness and other factors.
Having no interest fees can vary, depending on the terms. Getting an unsecured
credit card can be difficult for people who have very bad credit. There are
options to apply for a prepaid
card that can help rebuild credit or for consumers who do not want an
unsecured credit card offer. For more Discover details, visit their website.

It
is important to be able to contact any company about an account issue and hope
to get good customer service. American Express has ranked high four years in a
row, as one of the highest in customer satisfaction. They were one, among 10 of the largest card issuers in the
United States. There were several factors to determine satisfaction, they were customer
interaction, billing, payment process, credit card terms, rewards programs, benefits,
services, and problem resolution. Consumers everywhere have at some time had to
call about some of areas.
American
Express wants to meet the needs of their cardholders, and it looks like they are
doing just that. They provide training to help their Customer Care Professionals
with their daily jobs. This helps with by having a more engaged workforce and higher customer satisfaction.
The
last few years, American Express has also introduced new benefits and services
that were created to help consumers manage their finances and gain financial control.
There is a fee free online service for cardholders to manage their finances and
reward accounts easily online, they can set spending limits for additional cards on their account,
and mobile users can pay their bill and view account activity on their Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.
American Express
is able to provide money-saving benefits across their card products and give
better reward products. For example, the Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card was enhanced by the addition of the
First Checked Bag Free Benefit, and the Premier Rewards Gold Card offers rewards with triple points on airfare
purchases, gas and grocery purchases. There have been website changes that have
helped to improve the customer experience with better navigation and searches,
and a speedier process to complete transactions. For these details and more

people do not qualify for credit cards with good terms due to poor credit, there
are sub-prime offers available. There are offers online, so people can apply for
a card to

People
who usually pay their credit card balance in full each month, may need to
consider a rewards or cash back card. These cards may come with no annual fees.
Discover has some good reward cards and their website gives a quick over view
about which months offer rewards for shopping. For example, for a specific
month, there may be an extra 5% cash back when gas is purchased or money is
spent at movies, hotels, or theme parks. A specific amount may need to be spent too.
Discover gives an easy quick over view about the cash back amounts and what is
required.
There
is also the choice of a balance transfer card, those that have a longer
introductory period, may offer it at a higher interest rate. This can be good
when a person uses the card to transfer too many balances onto one, low interest
card. They then work hard to try to get the balance paid off quickly. Most rewards cards offer extra
perks when the cardholder spends in certain categories. It can be worth while to
find a card that gives cash back, bonus points, or travel miles at the places where
the card member spends the most money.
Having
great service with skilled customer service people can help when members want to
learn about their account, card features, or potential unauthorized charges. Customer support
and online tools are areas most members must use from time to time. Being able
to connect to a person if problems arise is important to a member. Getting
notices about special promotions and reward offers, can help cardholders get the
most benefits from their card.
Credit
cards with perks for travel assistance, travel insurance, and car rentals can be
good for those people who must travel, to get some rewards or perks. The more
the member learns about their travel card, the rates, restrictions, and any fees
that are involved, the more they may be able to benefit from their credit card.
Knowing all the details can help, before making decisions about purchases.
Examples
of types of purchases that could be required to get cash back rewards:
*
Purchases at grocery and drug stores.
*
Home improvement, department and clothing stores purchases.
* Purchases at gas stations, hotels, movies and theme parks.
*
Purchases at restaurants, department and clothing stores.
To
be able to get extra cash back, purchases may need to be made during a specific
date or a specific amount of money may need to be spent. Cash back could be in
the form of a check, applied to a credit card balance, or even used to purchase
gift cards. It can vary among card issuers. Check your cards terms and
conditions to find out all the details. For those people who can not get
approved for a major credit card with perks, apply for a card
to rebuild poor credit. It payment habits are reported to major agencies, it
can help rebuild credit.

College
students can still get a credit card at the age of eighteen, but they must prove
they can make minimum payments or get a parent to co-sign. Doing this for a
young adult means the parent is responsible for the bill. College students can
have many unexpected expenses, and if a parent is not comfortable co-signing for
a credit card, a prepaid card may be the best solution.
Many
parents do not want their credit on the line for signing on their college
student. There are hundreds of responsible students age 21 or older who are
successfully managing a credit card and the bill that they make. Finances are a
fact of life, and managing them is just a life long skill. People usually learn
to manage them due to mistakes of being in debt and having to dig their way out.
Yet, a few budgeting lessons could have prevented some major financial mistakes.
Credit
cards help consumers every day manage their personal finances or business
finances. There are always those people who abuse having a credit card and have
to pay late fees or even ruin their credit due to not paying bills at all.
Credit card users often are glad to have the benefit of having a card to make
purchases and to use it to establish or rebuild credit.
Cards
are like other financial tools that can make life easier with a swoop of a card.
Those who abuse the privilege of having one, may not be good money managers. It
is a big decision for parents to try to decide if they will take the risk and
sign for an 18 year old to have a card. For those who are undecided, consider a
debit or prepaid card,
and set a budget for spending using the card. This can teach some financial
skills that may prove beneficial for years to come.
The
credit reports of the primary borrower and the co-signer will both be affected
if both names are on the account. Each can benefit with good scores or be hurt
by poor scores. Sometimes a parent is not willing to take a chance and co-sign.
keeping good credit has never been more important. Of course, higher interest rates
could be the result of bad credit scores. For parents of irresponsible college
students, the choice may be not to co-sign.
Joint
accounts can not be closed until the balance is paid in full. This could take
some time if the balance is thousands of dollars. There are student credit cards
that have low credit limits, for example, of 1,000 or less and no annual fee.
Any co-signer should have a statement sent to their home address as a way to
keep a check on the account. If there is a balance accumulating and the bill is
not getting paid, it can be handled quickly.
Students
in college usually like to try to build a credit history which is important when
they want to purchase an auto or rent an apartment. A secured card
can allow a person to establish a credit history. The spending limit is based on a deposit with the
bank, and there is usually a minimum deposit required. If the bill is not paid, the bank uses
the deposit as collateral.
Another
choice is to make your young adult an authorized user on your account. You get the
bills and you see how much they are spending. Limits could be set for their
card. This can allow them to have a way to pay in an emergency and
establish credit. The parent can teach them how to manage their finances, track
expenses, and review statements. If there is abuse, their name could be removed.
Money skills must be taught and being financially responsible must be learned.

Diners Club del Ecuador Sociedad Financiera to Issue Discover Cards; Leverages Strong Diners Club Market Share in Ecuador
Discover Financial Services announced it has expanded its franchise agreement with Diners Club Ecuador (DCE) to include issuance of Discover cards in Ecuador. This is the first time in company history that Discover cards will be issued beyond U.S. borders.
As part of the agreement, DCE has been given the exclusive rights to issue Discover cards in Ecuador and will sub-license the issuing rights to Banco Pichincha, the largest bank in the country. The new Discover card will initially offer a basic version of Discover’s award-winning cash rewards program, Cashback Bonus, which includes up to 1 percent cash back on all purchases.
