Credit
Card
There
are people who are smart about using their credit cards and exhibiting good
management skills. Cards are one of the most convenient tools to use when done
so properly. Users who get the most from them, are those who know the features
and details of their particular card.
Not
paying attention to the credit limit is the first area where mistakes can be
made. There is a certain available credit limit on all cards, and it is based on
the user's income level as well as their credit history. For example, the credit limit
may be $10,000 for one individual, but only $5,000 for another cardholder.
Credit
limits are not given any thought or concern by many people, yet it needs to be
taken seriously. Instead, some people look at the limit and consider it as the
amount they can spend without any concern. Doing this is a bad approach, it is
best to use less than thirty percent of the available credit.
A
credit limit is an amount banks are willing to lend, though it is offered, it
does not mean a cardholder should start charging up to the given amount. The
user should consider their budget and their ability to repay any charges on the
card. Having a card can be the best thing, if for example, a clothes dryer is
needed before getting a paycheck. The cardholder charges it, and pays the bill
in full or as soon as possible. It is a great way to get a mini loan
without having to go to the bank and apply.
Once
a charge is made on a card, the user basically decides whether they will pay the
bill in full, or pay the minimum amount shown on the statement. The best course
of action, is to at least pay more than what is due or to payoff the bill.
Smart
cardholders know what they can afford to charge and pay back the balance due.
One of the biggest ways people end up in credit card debt, is spending but not
having the money in the budget to pay back later. Thousands of people use credit
cards for everyday expenses, even basic expenses just to earn cash back or
rewards they like. However, they usually pay the balance in full when the bill
arrives. They stay out of debt, and they earn cash or perks for spending money
they have to spend anyway.
Never
use a card just because it has an available credit, use it when it is necessary.
Spending sprees that are out of control only serve to accumulate needless debt.
The rich may spend because they have money to burn, but the average person lives
on a particular income and must live within their means.
There
are several choices for a no annual credit card, and it can have a cash back
feature. Reviewing the terms and conditions will let the user know just what is
required to get money back. Sometimes it is as simple as making any type of
purchase or the cardholder must buy at specific places of business. Some issuers
mail a check and others allow the cardholder to redeem the money in several
different ways.
When
credit card bills are paid late or missed, the issuer may raise interest rates
or late fees. Learning to manage credit cards can save money and even help earn
money, but it is up to the cardholder to be knowledgeable about their cards.
Using them and not being able to repay the balance, can only lead to bad credit.
Once this happens the only available option may be a prepaid
card. This is a good card too, but it requires the user to pre fund the
account before it can be used. Many people use it in the place of an unsecured
credit card, when they are unable to control their spending or if they want to
pay as they go using the ease of a piece of plastic.

Discover Financial Services Announces First Internationally-Issued Discover Cards
Diners Club del Ecuador Sociedad Financiera to Issue Discover Cards; Leverages Strong Diners Club Market Share in Ecuador
Discover Financial Services announced it has expanded its franchise agreement with Diners Club Ecuador (DCE) to include issuance of Discover cards in Ecuador. This is the first time in company history that Discover cards will be issued beyond U.S. borders.
As part of the agreement, DCE has been given the exclusive rights to issue Discover cards in Ecuador and will sub-license the issuing rights to Banco Pichincha, the largest bank in the country. Currently, DCE owns a market share of more than 40% by sales volume in Ecuador through their Diners Club products, and the complementary Discover card product was designed to further grow market share in the country. Discover cards will be processed on the Diners Club network in Ecuador, which boasts 100% merchant acceptance.
The new Discover card will initially offer a basic version of Discover’s award-winning cash rewards program, Cashback Bonus, which includes up to 1 percent cash back on all purchases. New card products and features will be rolled out over time, as “cashback” is still a new concept in Ecuador. Cash rewards can be redeemed for a gift card once cardmembers earn $20 (USD) or a statement credit once they earn $40 (USD).
“Discover clearly will benefit from the success of the Diners Club Ecuador franchise, which is a dominant force throughout the country,” said Diane Offereins, EVP and President of Discover Payment Services. “By leveraging DCE’s strength and expertise in-market, Discover has a tremendous opportunity to build its brand globally and share its most compelling attributes – including best cash rewards, service and value – with the people of Ecuador.”
“This agreement gives us the opportunity to expand our financial services product portfolio and introduce consumers in Ecuador to the Discover brand, which has a proven track record of success in the U.S.,” said Pablo Salazar, president of Diners Club Ecuador.
